Happy National Cheese Day everyone! By pure chance, today we packaged another innovative first for ObisOne.com - Driftwood Jack Style with Organic Black Garlic Cheese. We launch things when they're ready, which is usually 6 months opposite when marketers would advise we should. Oh well, it's gotta be right first.

It's not just USDA Organic, it's grass fed- 100% grass fed raw milk and features our organic black garlic. I've not historically been a big jack style cheese fan, but this one is a grand slam. Our collaboration with Portwood Acres in Port Republic makes this a 100% Virginia-Made endeavor. Just five ingredients - count 'em.

Our first month in Blacksburg

Our family has been truly blessed during our migration to Blacksburg, VA after 55 years in Pennsville, NJ. Anything that could or should have gone wrong just didn't. We sold our beloved farm, purged then moved our personal/business belongings, dogs and memories (13 trips in all) 400 miles to Virginia Tech country, where Lisa and I met in the 1980's.

What's more, our new home and about 40 acres simply found and captured us. We all love wildlife, so living in the Jefferson National Forest is a natural fit. I believe that most people are great, but there's an unmistakable aura of kindness and mutual respect here. I'm still trying to delete "you guys" from my vernacular and replace it with "y'all" once in a while, yet I still tend to mess up the context or put it in the wrong place.

The biggest surprise is how has adapted and is instantly flourishing here. Make no mistake, we'll always have a presence and products available for our customers in the Philly area and value our roots. One again, blessing abound as the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center continues to welcome and work with us to succeed and grow. The chance for little 'ol ObisOne to leverage the expertise of the wildly talented faculty, staff and research giants here is almost unheard of anywhere. Aside from our awesome suite and about 1800 "neighbors", we've already secured organic farmers to grow our premium garlic (always looking for more) and meet with Food Science pros soon about what's in my R&D bag of black garlic tricks.

Above all, our family is here. Wally and Quentin are no different than your children but to us, are most awesome young men. They tease us that we're just "creeping" them and reliving our college days. We treasure this time, miss our northern friends and customers, but are committed to exceed expectations and fulfill our company motto "Sharing the Goodness".
